Day 1

The first day will be an opportunity to discuss a number of training-related topics, such as: the delivery of training using the cloud and virtual machines, exploration of the use of ISCB core competencies for different bioinformatics roles, and a forum for sharing experiences in teaching programming to novices and the use of clouds and virtual machines for bioinformatics training.

Day 2 GOBLET/ELIXIR Train-the-Trainer Course

We are delighted to be hosting a Train-the-Trainer (TtT) course on Fri Nov 4th.

This GOBLET/ELIXIR TtT course will explore what skills are needed to be a good trainer, different learning styles and learning methods, how to design a training session, how to write learning objectives, and how to develop training materials and collect feedback.

The course will be delivered by an experienced group of trainers from the BPA/CSIRO training network who have participated in a number of Train-the-Trainer courses at the European Bioinformatics Institute and TGAC over the past 4 years.

These trainers have been instructed to deliver Train-the-Trainer material to other trainers by Dr Sarah Morgan (EBI)  in the first ever GOBLET/ELIXIR Train-the-Trainer Instructor training course, using material from the EMBL-EBI node of ELIXIR.

NEW! Draft outline and agenda for Day 2 can be found here. Please note, this is subject to change.
