External Relationships
ABACBS advocates for bioinformatics and computational biology to funding and other organisations on behalf of its members. Following consultation with members, the society made submissions to the Structural Review of NHMRC’s Grant Program and the Medical Research Future Fund Review.
ABACBS also maintains a number of relationships with external organisations:
ABACBS has reciprocal organisational membership with the AMSI. This involves us in the organisation of BioinfoSummer, Choose Maths, Maths & Biology Initiative and other programs.
EMBL Australia Bioinformatics Resource
ABACBS is represented on the EMBL-ABR International Steering Committee.
EMBL Australia
EMBL Australia provided generous sponsorship to ABACBS from 2014-2017, which allowed ABACBS to sponsor BioinfoSummer and the Winter School in Mathematical and Computational Biology during this period.
