Instructions

For ALL poster presenters (COMBINE16/AB3ACBS)

  • All posters will need to be printed in A0 portrait format.
  • The poster venue will be open daily 8am - 5pm from Monday 31st Oct - Wednesday Nov 2nd 
  • Posters can be hung anytime during Symposium/Conference hours

For poster presenters selected for The Cube/Fast Forward session (AB3ACBS)

Some posters will require an electronic version for display in The Cube during the poster session at 5pm on Tuesday 1 November 2016. These include:

  • Fast-forward presenters
  • A selection of additional posters

We will notify you if you have been selected for a fast-forward talk or to have your poster presented at The Cube.

The Cube Poster Format:

  • If selected, we must receive a digital version of your poster by Wednesday evening, 26th October
  • Please submit your posters here
  • Your poster must be 1080 pixels wide by 1920 pixels high
  • Please refer to emailed instructions with template designs

Fast-forward talk format:

  • You must submit an electronic poster to The Cube (see guidelines above)
  • 5pm Nov 1st at The Cube
  • Strict 2 minutes talking time
  • No additional slides - props encouraged!

 

For All oral presenters

AB3ACBS Oral presentation format:

  • 12 minutes talk time; 3 minutes questions (please keep to time!)
  • Powerpoint is preferred; PDF or Prezi format also acceptable
  • Aspect ratio of slides 4:3
  • Presenters may use the provided Windows PC or an external laptop ( via a VGA or HDMI interface)
  • If using the provided Windows PC, please bring your presentation on a USB stick 
  • All presenters should upload and check their presentation with the AV team prior to their session:
  • Day 1 (Tues Nov 1):
    • Session 1 talks: During registration
    • Session 2 talks: During registration
    • Session 3 talks: Anytime before or during morning tea
    • Session 4 talks: Anytime before or during lunch
  • Day 2 (Wed Nov 2):
    • Session 5 talks: During registration or on Day 1
    • Session 6 talks: During registration or on Day 1
    • Session 7 talks: Anytime before or during morning tea (or Day 1)
    • Session 8 talks: Anytime before of during lunch (or Day 1)

 

COMBINE16 Oral presentation format:

  • 15 minutes talk time; 5 minutes questions
  • Powerpoint presentations only
  • Aspect ratio of slides 4:3
  • Presenters are asked to use the provided Windows PC - please bring your presentation on a USB stick
  • All presenters should upload and check their presentation with the AV team during registration Monday 31st October, 8am - 9am

 

COMBINE16 Lightning talk format:

  • 2 sessions on Monday, 31st October (P-level5 poster room)
  • strict 3 minutes talk time
  • A single powerpoint slide (optional):
    • Aspect ratio 4:3
    • Presenters are asked to use the provided Windows PC - please bring your slide on a USB stick
    • All presenters should upload and check their slide with the AV team during registration Monday 31st October, 8am - 9am

 

Submission to F1000Research

COMBINE16 and AB3ACBS invites all delegates to deposit (for free) your posters and slides to the COMBINE/AB3ACBS F1000Research channel through the quick and simple online submission form on this page: f1000research.com/channels/ABACBS/for-authors/publish-your-research.
 
By depositing your presentation, you will attract the attention of a much wider audience and will enable all researchers with an interest in your work to contact you and ask questions even if they are unable to attend the symposium in person.
 
We prefer to receive all submissions by the 30/10/16, although you will still be able to deposit your poster(s)/slides after this date should you be unable to make this deadline. If you have any questions about this invitation, please do not hesitate to contact symposium@combine.org.au.
